The Story
Joe was born in the United Kingdom and in 2006 his family migrated to Australia. Growing up in Melbourne, it became clear that aviation was his biggest hope and dream for the future. He loved the feeling of flying and being in the air surrounded by breathtaking views.
Once he completed high school, Joe looked at studying aviation and experienced difficulties due to his colour blindness. God directed him to study a Bachelor of Ministry at bible college first, where he could clearly see how God orchestrated this move, as his time at bible college was so grounding and foundational to his faith. 18 months later, Joe felt a move of the Spirit again, this time calling him to pursue his passion for aviation.
After an initial enquiry with MAF, it became clear that it was possible to start the course that MAF FTC offered, despite his colour blindness. He started the course in late 2020 and over the next 1.5 years, God started to work in his heart, preparing him for mission and growing his servant heart. God broke Joe’s heart for what broke His own and filled him with encouragement and motivation to take on His calling for Joe’s life.
With mission being rooted firmly in his family, right back to his great grandparents, Joe is eager to start this new chapter that God is calling him into, by serving the people of Arnhem Land.
