Technical Support Engineer – Avionics Specialist, Cairns

The Technical Operations team are seeking an experienced Avionic Specialist. You will be responsible to provide technical advice and support to MAF International maintenance personnel and oversee any major avionics upgrade. As the Subject Matter Expert (SME) you would advise Manual Authors regarding the inspection requirements pertaining to avionic systems installed in MAFI aircraft, and provide advice regarding avionic maintenance, training requirements and course content. The location for this role is ideally in a place of MAF International operations.

Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years of avionics maintenance experience with experience installing new avionics systems. You will have an ICAO Avionics Licence applicable to systems contained within MAF International aircraft and have management experience in either avionics or aviation.
You will be a team player with good communication skills. With the ability to communicate clearly across both geographical and cultural boundaries, working in a virtual team environment. You will need to be organised, meet tight deadlines and be flexible with your work schedule. You will have excellent analytical skills being competent, orderly, persistent and resourceful.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Essential:
– An ICAO Avionics Licence applicable to systems contained within MAF International Aircraft
– Aptitude in verbal, nonverbal, numerical and mechanical reasoning
– Avionics or aviation management experience
– Training in Quality and Safety Management Systems
– Four years of avionics maintenance experience
– Installation of new avionics systems
– Understanding others
Desirable:
– Diploma level in aircraft engineering avionics
– Certificate level in project management
– Applicable avionics OEM training (eg Garmin)
– Development of design data for avionics installations
– Avionics component repairs
