MAF has a fantastic opportunity for an Aircraft Painter to join our Technical Operations Team at our state of the art maintenance facility in Mareeba…..Far North Queensland. Many of our aircraft from the Asia Pacific region come to our maintenance facility for repair and maintenance. In this role, you will be part of an amazing team of professionals keeping our aircraft in top condition to return to flying in the most remote places in the world.

Responsibilities
In this role, you will support our passionate team of Tech Ops professionals with composite repairs to aircraft structure, aircraft painting and includes the maintenance of a range of aircraft types within the MAF Fleet.

Strong work ethics, an eye for detail and a willingness to maintain and improve personal/professional standards are essentials for this role. You will have the opportunity to participate in training events, review published aviation material, and complete of any CPD (Continuing Professional Development) modules which we consider highly valued elements of this role.

You will be required to conduct all work in an accurate manner and to organisational standards. Inspecting, testing, repairing/reassembling (within the scope of training) of airframes, engines and components are functions of this position. As part of the Technical Operations Team, you will also comply with quality and organisational requirements for aviation safety and OHS. We expect you to continually seek opportunities for improvement, using safe work practices and contribute to a positive safety culture.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Essential
Current right to work in Australia
Secondary School completion certificate
Completion of approved aircraft maintenance engineer pre-employment course or equivalent experience
Application of Procedures: Identifies and applies procedures in accordance with appropriate documents and applicable regulations, using appropriate knowledge
Situational Awareness: Recognises and understands the maintenance environment and relevant information; anticipates future events.
Work Management: Manages available resources efficiently to prioritise and perform tasks in a safe and efficient manner

Technical Expertise: Applies and improves technical knowledge and skills to perform maintenance safely and efficiently.
Coordination & Handover: Manages coordination and handover between personnel.
Risk Management: Demonstrates an effective safety approach to the work environment considering its risk profile and the availability of resources.
Teamwork: Operates safely and efficiently as a team member
Aptitude in verbal, non-verbal, numerical and mechanical reasoning Health and Safety principles
Desirable

ICAO Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Licence without type rating
National Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Licence, as required Aircraft and engine type courses, as appropriate
Turbine or reciprocating engine experience, as appropriate Human Factors in Aviation Maintenance
2 years of aircraft maintenance experience (can be concurrent with obtaining licence)
